Pumpkin Season Infused Wedding Ideas

October 23, 2009
Want to create a wedding that will wow your guests and create an unforgettable experience? Then getting married on that oh so famous pumpkin day might be your day! The pro’s of having a wedding on Halloween would be awesome for the budget bride since it is after the high season and this year it falls on a Saturday.  Here are some awesome tips to create that special day.

Makeup: Ladies, this is wear you can go all out dramatic with flair. You can either go smoky, smoky on the eyes (think Carmen Electra or Kim Kardashian) or keep the eyes light with  heavy liner and put the emphasis on bold lashes and sophisticated dark berry lipstick (think Dita Von Tesse). For the smoky eyes, I would go gunmetal, grey or deep plums with heavy black shadow liner. MAC has a few really good smoky shadow colors. I would suggest going a little dramatic on the foundation and have a matte look that will wow your guests. MAC’s Studiofix would be an awesome compliment to this look.

Color Scheme: You can go with the natural choice, orange, or a bit of flair for the dramatic with deep red and black. All black decor is also okay for this day. If you would like to add a little bling, why not go with a few select silver pieces  with black candles to add to the elegance. Crystal Chandeleirs and crystal accents will only add to the elegance and drama of the evening and the special occasion. Brides, you can have your bridesmaids dressed in rich deep colors such as deep plum and cranberry, the color scheme will add drama and flair to the evening. Plus the colors are usually very complimentary for any skin color adding much warm and richness to your final photographs!

Hair: You can either go wild here or go classic with a Victorian updo. If your hair is not long enough, be sure to talk to your stylist on adding a few hairpieces to give it some extra va va voom. Pin up style  hair with gorgeous flower accents in white and red would really create drama. Here is a cool site with awesome updo’s.

Photobooths: These can be rented out for tradeshows, I have seen many in my line of work. Talk to your photographer and see what can be done, either you can get an outside vendor to handle this or a photographer can help getting this going. How fun would it be to take spooky pictures of all your friends and family and add those to your memories? Look on the bright side, you can get them back for all those awful baby pictures they bring out at family get togethers. :-)

One- of -a - Kind  Wedding Invites: Here you can get awesomely creative. Talk to your invitation  designer to come up with great ideas for wedding invitations. You can have it gothic and glam, pumpkiny (is that a word?) or dramatic with flair. Here are some cute inspiration pieces from Invitation by Dawn.
